Overnight Oats
I’m a fan of short-cuts like overnight oats that make your life simpler without compromising your goals. Lately, my mornings are more rushed than I would prefer. Some time ago I was able to hit the snooze buttons a few times, lay in bed for an extra stretch and take my time before starting the day.
Fast forward to two kids later, working from home and juggling extracurricular activities and there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish it all. One option would be to set an alarm, wake up 30 minutes earlier to fit all the tasks required to get the family going in the morning. However, that means a wake up call of 4:30 am on some days. Instead, overnight oats is a perfect fit for us! Breakfast is prepared the night before and motivates me jump out of bed to enjoy it. If you haven’t tried it yet, we hope you will after we explain how easy it is to make it.
Make Overnight Oats in our empty jars!
Do you know all those empty Once Again jars you have saved up? They’ll be perfect for overnight oats. Their size and air tight lids are just what this recipe needs. There are limitless variations to overnight oats. Their basis is about 1 cup of old fashion oats, 3/4 cup milk of your choice (I used vanilla almond milk, unsweetened) and 2 tablespoon of Once Again Nut Butter. Close your jar, give it a good shake and place it in the refrigerator overnight (or at least for 3 hour). The next day, you can add extra milk if it’s too thick, or just add your toppings. Enjoy it cold, at room temperature, or pop it in the microwave for 1 minute for warm oats (make sure to remove lid first).
