Once Again Chocolate Hazelnut Hummus
Occasionally, the food industry really takes us by surprise. Recently, new food stylists have accomplished this a twist on a favorite dip: hummus. We have shared a couple of recipes for traditional hummus here before. After all, hummus recipes use tahini, and our Once Again Tahini makes a fantastic hummus!
Hummus is a staple in most healthy diets. It’s a good source of plant-based protein, has a significant amount of fiber, and healthy fats. When compared to nacho cheese sauce or creamy ranch dips, for example, hummus far exceeds any of those nutritionally, making it ideal for anyone on a healthier journey. Achieving the 7-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day can be difficult, but when you can dip cut up raw vegetables in hummus, the goal is more attainable.
However, when it comes to dips for fresh fruits, the options have been limited to yogurt-based dips or high sugar options such as caramel, that is until hummus got a makeover. Every day now, you can dip fruit in our new hummus—and meet your nutritional needs. Creating this hummus is both a convenient and pleasure-filled.
So, there definitely was a need, and the market delivered on the tastier dips with a chocolate version of hummus. However, you will find our recipe much better.
Of course, Once Again took it up a notch with our Gourmet line! What is chocolate with nuts after all? Well, it’s a world-wide favorite! We made some simple swaps in the traditional recipe for hummus, and the sweet version was born. Instead of Once Again Tahini, we used Once Again Hazelnut & Cacao Spread, swapped the olive oil for maple syrup, and added extra cacao powder for a richer chocolate taste. We base the recipe on garbanzo beans, a staple in most hummus recipes. They are the source of most of the protein and fiber in the recipe and what makes hummus a nutrient-rich choice over the others out there. Simply put, this dip will change the way you eat fresh fruits, crackers, and/or pretzels!
Next, we will be remaking old staple recipes with our other products in our Gourmet line! What will be your first choice for a remake?
