We are here to help you impress your special someone with a homemade box of chocolates! These Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls are extremely simple to make, and we will walk you through each step in making them. Also, they are gluten free and vegan, so everyone can enjoy them.

We chose coconut flour to mix with the peanut butter here. It gives the treats a crumbly texture that will still stick together and hold shape, making dipping them into the chocolate very neat and easy. However, you can use almond flour or another nut flour of your choice. If you are not worried about gluten, you can also choose oat flour. Oat flour will give a nice touch of added fiber for a bit of a healthier twist; it also provides the perfect texture needed in this recipe. The only flours you won’t want to use here are those made out of wheat.

We found that the sweetness from the dark chocolate and natural sugars in the peanut butter is just enough here—for our taste. But if you want to take them up an extra sweet notch, feel free to mix in a few tablespoons of coconut sugar. As far as the hidden surprise in the middle, the almond, you can choose anything you’d like instead, depending upon where your culinary imagination takes you. Some other flavorsome choices include dark cherries, peanuts, hazelnuts, or if you’re feeling extra fancy— liquor-filled candy drops.

Last of all, let’s consider the dark chocolate preferred option for covering the peanut butter balls. Dark chocolate is our favored match for peanut butter, but you can use milk chocolate or white chocolate, if one of those is your favorite. Now just pack these treats in a pretty heart-shaped box and go off to impress that beloved someone!
